As people who have lived most of their lives in Kenya, trust us when we tell you that Kenya is a wonderful place to live in - the climate, the breathtaking sceneries, the animals both wild and mild, the people. Most importantly, though, Kenya is a country in need of the Gospel. With a population of 56 million people, many are steeped in religion, yet sadly, many lack a genuine relationship with God. Many go to church on Saturday or Sunday but do not have Jesus in their hearts. So many are confused about what Christianity really is.

 

In central Kenya, lies Kiambu county. Just as mentioned above, many people in this area would claim to be very religious. Many would say that they know God. However, if on a random day you were to go out to the community and ask people if they knew for sure that they will go to heaven, you will certainly get responses such as:

1. No, you cannot know for sure. Nobody ever knows.

2. Yes I will, because I am a good person. 
3. Yes I will, because I was baptized when I was young.
4. Yes I will, because I go to church here and there.

This is the sad reality in many parts of Kiambu county.

While some churches, predominantly Catholic churches, exist in these areas, it is evident that these churches do not teach the people of the Way, the Truth and the Life. Our hearts are moved with compassion for these lost souls whom the Lord is not willing that they should perish but that they should come to repentance.

Therefore, our desire is to go to the central part of Kenya, identify a town that lacks a solid independent Baptist church, and through discipleship, plant a church with the goal of this church being autonomous led by a national pastor who has the vision of church planting. After this, we would move on to the next town and begin this process again. We long to see a church planting movement in this area of Kenya and beyond. We want to see our fellow Kenyans fired up about seeing the country reached with the Gospel.
